Removing Cable Stops and Guides

Jump to: navigation, search

Old fashioned cable stops and guides are a serious problem on modern mountain bikes.

The Problem

The use of hydraulic brakes and continous length deraillure housings make the old fashioned type not only useless, but dangerous. They snag clothing and skin leading to tears of each.

The Best configuration

All cable guides should be of the zip tie type, with only one stop for the front deraillure.
