Strut style forks are very light and very strong. They are also relatively cheap and easy to make, except for one part; the strut.

I figured that I would show off my nice little fixture for making these struts. The big problem with the strut is that it is very difficult to hold solid and mitre due to their extremely short length.

This is a strut. This one is just 1" between 45 degree mitres.

By making this tool modular, I can make subtle changes in angle and cant for various runs of forks.

Plenty of bolts ensures that the strut is held fast everywhere I can.

Just what's needed, leave as much material to hold the tube.
