===Valving===

Supposedly, 2009 40's are:

*16.6x0.1

*15.5x0.15

*13.5x0.15

*9.6x0.25

===Oil===

I used Red Line Medium for both lube and damping on the last build. We will see how this goes.

===Bottom Out Valving===

The fork comes with the maximum amount of bottoming resistance. I moved that to the minimum. That should really help the fork out. It looked that the max was the lat 45mm of travel. It's now down to about the last 10mm of travel.

Specs

  • 2008 Intense M6, Medium S/N #PM-84309
  • 2.6:1 Leverage ratio
  • 8" travel front
  • 9.3" travel rear
  • IGCG-05 Guide Mount
  • 8" front rotor
  • 7" rear rotor

Gearing

The bike is currently geared with a 32 tooth chainring and an 11-32 9 speed cassette. This is so that I can actually (Ha! The pain.) ride the bike on some of my local trails. I will bring that up to 36 tooth chainring for chairlifting.

A 36 chainring is a little low for a real DH bike, but since I'm not racing I figure that the lower gear will help me quite a bit when traversing to fun trails away from the lifts.

Crank Length

I got a good deal at a local swap for some 175mm and 165mm Saint cranks (83mm BB). The 175mm cranks are just too long. I wish that I had some 170mm cranks to try. I'm sure that the 165mm cranks will be nice when I'm going big.

165mm Cranks work perfect.
