By Karen-

Twas the Tuesday before Thanksgiving...

And all through the house

Eric was cooking, faster than a mouse

Roasting and toasting with abandon and grace

Aroma of turkey filled up the place.

Candles were lit by the deck with care

In hopes that the riders soon would be there.

Karen and Jon raced not to be tardy

They didn't want to miss Eric's Tday Party.

Danny and Alan from Berkeley they flew,

Craig from the city, mustn't be late, that much he knew.

The riders were long out of their beds

While visions of Turkey danced in their heads.

We zipped up our jerseys and turned on our lights

Spinning our way to the Nike site.

Dominican Fire Road to Quercus trail

It was so pretty, no one wanted to bail.

We Dashed down Hitler, Craig thought he could fly

But only his bike went into the sky.

Returning along JT Howell,

We peddled cheek by jowl.

Our last descent

Down Fiasco we went.

To our gleeful delight when Eric's house came in sight

Hundreds of Candles were lighting the night.

The table was set on the deck with a view

Eric did all of this, just for us, lucky few.

Wine was decanted, Lorna was pouring

Michael Moore was anything but boring.

Mountains of mashed made with whole milk

Plenty of Sweet potatoes smooth as silk.

Of course there was stuffing and gravy for us all

Wild turkey was the Hamana call.

It was the best TNR dinner by far

Thank you Eric, You are our star.
